Central City Renovation

New Zealand heritage design meets modern sustainability. This project required extreme care in preserving the classical style and craft of the existing villa, whilst updating the floor plan to work with modern living. The design incorporated passive solar heat gains and thermal mass to produce an efficient, comfortable living space. Super-insulated walls and thermally broken aluminium joinery produced an elegant yet sustainable home.

With privacy being at a premium in the dense central suburbs, this was another design consideration which had to be met, creating a usable, private outdoor living court while preserving the section's amazing view of Auckland city.
