Waiheke Village

Originally designed by Pete Bossley to reflect the ideology and nature of a village, this dwelling beautifully reflects the community heritage of Waiheke Island. The buildings rise from the site in the form of monolithic larch sculptures, minimalist and powerful masses, perforated by dramatic windows.

This project involved very close collaboration between the owners and the design team in order to marry the technical innovations to a demanding project schedule. The result was an iconic assemblage of buildings, a family of larch giants nestled away from the main roads and reflecting a powerful sense of both privacy and community.
